Declinations Convertor - Astrological technique by Kt Boehrer

Declinations, the other dimension of a planet's position in an astrology chart, represented an overlooked technique until astrologer Kt Boehrer books were published. She thoroughfully investigated this subject over many years, bringing to astrologers' awareness the extraordinary power and value of declinations. A high-quality website with many valuable articles on declination is Mandala.be.

Also known as "the declination lady", as she used to sign her messages, she pointed out the importance of out of bounds planets and developed astrological techniques such the declination conversion into longitude.

This technique simply considers that as the Sun moves both in longitude and declination throughout a year, there is a symbolic relationship between a declination degree and the Sun's position in longitude when it has the respective declination. But there're two moments during a year when the Sun has the same declination (named antiscia or solstice points), so there're two longitudes corresponding to a specific declination of the Sun. So, this is it: a planet's position in declination has two equivalent longitudes, representing a sort of reflection, a mirroring, a hidden connection.

It therefore allows correlating the two dimensions, declination and longitude, offering a way to integrate declinations in the regular astrology chart interpretation.

Whenever a planet's declination is higher than the maximum Sun declination (23°27' North/South), whenever a planet is out-of-bounds, the above mentioned technique cannot be applied anymore, so Kt Boehrer figured out a trick for this situation: the planet's declination is considered to have a mirror co-declination on the other side of the 23°27' threshold. Example: a declination of 23°30' has a codeclination of 23°24'.

Esoteric meanings of the Rising Sign

by Adele Barger Wilson

The following sign meanings are based on the principles set forth by Djwhal Khul
through Alice Bailey in Chapter II of Esoteric Astrology and simplified in
An Esoteric Journey Through the Zodiac: The Inner Meanings of the Signs

PLEASE NOTE:  By no means do the paragraphs on this page represent firm or final textbook delineations.  Please consider them as constituting an initial attempt to verbalize possible soul's-purpose implications of the ascending sign in the horoscope.  I offer them to you as a starting point, an initial frame of reference, in our collective quest to discern and recognize the various arenas of growth, types of consciousness expansion, and fields of service that can be intended by the human soul.  Of course, the esoteric significance of the rising sign must be modified by many factors, most significantly, by planets in the first house, aspects to the ascending degree, and the house position, sign, and aspects of the esoteric ruler of the ascendant.  Degree, decanate, duad, and fixed star symbolisms are among the many other possible colorations that can contribute to the synthesis that would begin to describe the soul's purpose.

Physical Descriptions and Characteristics of the Tarot Court

by Gina Thies

The human figure has been the subject of drawings and art from the beginning of history. It has been so significant to art, partly because it is used to express the cultural values and viewpoints of the diverse eras in which they are composed. The Renaissance having the most influence on tarot is possibly also most detrimental in terms of representing all spectrums of people. It is a reminder of how small the world once appeared.

In the telling of any story, the physical descriptions of characters help to bring the story to life.

One could liken the reading process to telling one’s life story, with a host of characters that influence
the tale. In matters of love, querent regularly ask, “What does the future hold for my love life?”
followed by “What does he/she look like?” Even when matters are not so close to the heart, querents
naturally want specific information to make a reading more relevant and personal.

How We Can Find If Two Persons Are Twin Flames

by Christos Archos, M.Sc

This article by Christos Archos has been split into three parts.

Part 1: Twin Flames Part 2: What are the Twin Flames? Part 3: Identifying Twin Flames

An astrologer usually has a difficulty time answering if two persons are each others twin flame because the basic instruments are not helpful. Longitudanal charts as we know them are not very helpful if we don’t know some other important techniques.

First of all, we have to understand that according to what we’ve discussed, a twin flame is the other half of the soul when is splits entering the human kingdom through geminian influences. This means our soul splits into opposites and we have to find our other half.

In astrology, we are full of opposites; the chart itself is built through opposites. Aries and Libra, Taurus and Scorpio, Gemini and Sagittarius, Cancer and Capricorn, Leo and Aquarius, Virgo and Pisces. All of these are polarities that work among themselves. It is very important when we try to find our twin soul to share opposing planets with the other person. Astrologers and people usually try to avoid opposition because medieval thought used to believe it was a bad aspect. In fact, oppositions between two charts may create some conflicts, but they are very important when you want to have a relationship that really contributes to individuals.

Planets in opposition between two charts are very important when we try to trigger the twin flame relationship. We have to be very careful because we don’t just want the planets to be in opposition but also in contra-parallel. Only when two planets are in opposition and in contra-parallel can we talk about the possibility of a twin flame relationship.

The first criterion is opposition. The other criterion is a very important concept we call “Antiscia.” The degree when the planet has equal day-time is called antiscia. For example the antiscia of a planet in 21o of Taurus is 09o of Leo.

But according to theory twin flames are not based on similarity, so antiscia is not in reality the real point we look for because a person that has a lot of planets in our antiscia points has similarities with us, not oppositions.

The point that is in opposition with Antiscia is Contra-Antiscia. So a person with his planet in 21o Taurus has his contra-antiscia point in 9o of Aquarius. So when a person has a lot of planets in our contra-antiscia points this means that he is probably a twin flame for us.
At this point, we have to combine both techniques. We have to see if any planets are in opposition and contra-parallel at the same time but also to find if there are any connections with each other’s contra-antiscia points.

Of course there are other secondary things an astrologer should look at. First of all we have to look at whether or not the person of interest has planets in the water houses (fourth, eighth and twelth). Although the fourth house sometimes can give us information about whether or not the person found his “father” or “mother” and not his twin flame, for this reason we have to be careful with the interpretation. The reverse is also very important. If we have planets in the other person’s water houses then we increase the probability of a twin flame relationship.

Secondly we have to see if there are planets of the person who form aspects with our retrograde planets, especially Venus. A lot of people with Venus retrograde have high probability to meet their twin flame. Retrograde planets may sometimes be identified with karma but in fact if the theory of twin flames exists, then every time there is an incarnation, every time our soul happens to split our karma partners may be our twin flame.

The last thing we have to look at is on the Composite chart (the chart where we combine the two persons’ natal charts) is if our twelth and first houses have lots of planets. The most important thing is if there is a spark. As we said before there has to be a spark, a light between two people, a flame of passion, love and understanding that they have never felt before. Combining the emotions of the couple and the astrological influences we can easily understand if that is a twin flame relationship or not.

While twin flame is the triumph of uniqueness with another person, having a relationship with any other person on this planet is also very fascinating and generates a big and long path of wisdom and happiness.  Don’t forget that the most important thing is not if the relationship we have is a twin flame but if it has the flame to make us different and better. Love is the ultimate weapon of spiritual alchemists, through love you can change a simple relationship to a golden union, the sacred union.

Till then let love and your inner flame drive you to happiness.

Life Purpose Tarot Spread for Earth Angels

angel messenger with trumpet

What divine message are you here to amplify with your presence?

Dear Earth Angel, You came here to earth with a fully formed mission and a blueprint for your soul and body to help you accomplish this mission. It is a mission that is aligned with your soul essence and personality, as well as the Life Path you are on. It is completely unique to you and your particular gifts.
Just like the angels, you are a messenger of light and love… but in your case, it involves the use of the physical body in some way (or you wouldn’t need to incarnate!). In the Tarot, the suit of Pentacles represent your physical reality.
The Tarot can help you gain insight to what message you are here to amplify with your presence – how to bring Heaven down to Earth, in other words – as well as how to accomplish this. Knowledge about your mission has literally been coded into your blueprint with numbers and I have created a Tarot spread to help you explore two of those numbers.
For this Tarot Spread, we will focus on the two main aspects of your Birth Numerology, the date and the full name given at birth. The former renders your Life Path and the latter your Destiny/Expression number.
To find out which Life Path you are on in this incarnation, simply add the numbers of your date of birth together and reduce to a single digit. For the name (Destiny/Expression number), each letter is represented by a number value. There are online calculators you can use if you prefer. HERE is one for your Life Path and HERE is another for your name.
For the purpose of this reading we will focus only on the opportunities these numbers brings, in order to help you fulfill your potential. Think about the most positive traits of the corresponding Major – this is what you are here to express. Challenges to this expression will be represented by other cards.
Your Life Path number is like a sign post pointing you in the most fulfilling direction in terms of Life Purpose and your Destiny/Expression number shows you what skill set you were born into this life with (carried forward from past lives). You have the power to use the energy carried by these two numbers in harmony to amplify divine Light and Love on earth in a unique way and in a minute you will find out how…
For the purpose of this reading, we cover numbers 1-9, 11 and 22 and these are also the corresponding cards that will apply (22=The Fool). So go ahead and make the calculations and then find the two Major Arcana cards concerned. For some of you it will be the same card twice and then you can mark the other spot with a crystal in the spread or, if you have more than one deck, you can find the same Major in another Tarot deck.
This is the layout:

1. Life Path: 3 The Empress / Archangel Gabriel – Creativity, fun, sensuality (Venus)
2. Expression/Destiny: 9 The Hermit / Epiphany / Archangel Raziel – Contemplation, teaching (Virgo)
3. Action Advice: Eight of Ariel (Pentacles) – Study and hone your skills. Manifest with more attention to detail.
4.  Support: Ten of Michael (Swords) – The harsher lessons are finally behind you so that you can focus on your mission.
5. Mission (read together with cards 1 and 2): 1 The Magician / Archangel Raziel (Mercury) – Communicate spiritual wisdom and teach people how to create a spiritual reality on earth.
6. Talent to develop: Queen of Gabriel / Aries – leadership, initiative, charisma
7. Avoid this: The World / Archangel Michael – anything that limits your freedom, self-limiting beliefs

Blessed Be!

How to Calculate Your Personality, Soul and Shadow Cards

There are a couple of different methods for calculating your Tarot birth cards (personality, soul and shadow) but I’ll describe the method Mary K Greer uses, and that you can read more in-depth about in the superb book Tarot for your Self.*
Let’s first take a look at you calculate your personality and soul cards. According to Mary K Greer you add the numbers of your birth date like this:
Example: 13th of April, 1975
You then add each digit in the sum: 1+9+9+2=21, keeping any number from 1-22.
In this example, 21, The World, is your personality card. As this is a double digit number, you can reduce it further to a single digit number by adding 2+1=3. 3, The Empress, is your soul card.
If the sum is greater than 22, you reduce the digits until you have a smaller number. If the sum then becomes a single digit number, the personality card and the soul card are one and the same.
In one instance, a person can have more than two personality cards, and this happens when the sum is 19. Cards 1, 10 and 19 then all become both personality and soul cards.
Number 22 corresponds to 0, the Fool, with number 4, the Emperor as the soul card. According to Mary K Greer, these two cards also work more as a unit rather than as a separate soul and personality cards.
In the table below, you will find some key words for each numerological constellation, and also see which card is your Hidden Factor or Shadow Card. The term “Shadow” here is used in the Jungian sense to refer to those aspects of ourselves that we’d rather keep in the subconscious and therefore tend to project onto others.
